The New EV Tax Credit Has Many Requirements

There has been a lot of confusion about 2023’s new federal EV tax credit law.  First of all, when it comes to the tax code, many of us find it beyond confusing.  That is why a lot of people rely on tax professionals to help them prepare their annual tax returns.  Well the new EV tax credit won’t disappoint you, it is extremely confusing. more So What Exactly Is The Electric Vehicle Tax Credit? The electric vehicle tax credit is a nonrefundable tax credit. It is offered to taxpayers who purchase a qualifying new electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid vehicle. It can also be used on qualifying used electric vehicles.  A nonrefundable tax credit will lower your tax liability by the credit amount. However, it can only be used to offset taxes owed. If you do not owe taxes and are receiving a refund, you can not use the tax credit.  Taxpayers can only claim one credit per vehicle. The new vehicle EV tax credit is worth up to a total of $7,500. It consists of a $3,750 tax credit for the battery requirement and a $3,750 tax credit for the critical minerals requirement. The new electric vehicle must meet several other qualifications in order to qualify the full EV tax credit. You may also qualify for up to $4,000 tax credit on qualifying used electric vehicles. There is a maximum limit of 30% of the sales price of a used EV. How Will I Know If I Qualify For The Tax Credit? First, the vehicle you are purchasing must qualify for the tax credit.  The vehicle must meet several criteria such as MSRP, final assembly requirements, and battery & critical minerals requirements.  The IRS urges taxpayers to use its tool for the most up to date information on the tax credit and vehicle requirements.  You can now consult the FuelEconomy.gov website for the latest information. The purchaser of the electric vehicle must also qualify for the tax credit.  The new law sets limits on the modified adjusted gross income for taxpayers in order to qualify for the tax credit.  If both the vehicle and the taxpayer meet the requirements for the tax credit, you must file IRS Form 8936 with your tax return to claim the EV tax credit. 2025 Mazda CX-70

Recommended Oil Type for the Mazda CX-70

When it comes to maintaining your Mazda CX-70, one of the most critical aspects is ensuring you use the correct oil type. Using the right oil helps optimize engine performance, improves fuel efficiency, and extends the lifespan of your engine. At Wallace Mazda in Stuart, FL, we’re committed to helping you keep your vehicle running smoothly. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the recommended oil type for the Mazda CX-70, how often to change it, and why it’s essential for your engine’s health. more What Is the Recommended Oil Type for the Mazda CX-70? For optimal performance, Mazda recommends using SAE 0W-20 full synthetic oil for the Mazda CX-70. This oil is specifically engineered to provide superior lubrication, reduce engine wear, and enhance fuel economy. Full synthetic oil performs better under extreme temperatures and provides long-lasting protection compared to conventional oils. If you’re unsure whether your vehicle requires a specific oil blend, it’s always a good idea to check your owner’s manual or consult with the service team at Wallace Mazda in Stuart, FL. Why Does the Mazda CX-70 Require Synthetic Oil? Mazda’s engines are designed with advanced technology that demands a high-performing oil to keep components properly lubricated. Here’s why synthetic oil is recommended for the Mazda CX-70: Better Engine Protection: Synthetic oil maintains its viscosity better than conventional oil, providing more consistent protection against engine wear. Improved Fuel Economy: Synthetic oil reduces engine friction, allowing your engine to run more efficiently. High-Temperature Resistance: Whether it’s the Florida heat or a long road trip, synthetic oil remains stable at high temperatures. Longer Oil Life: Synthetic oil lasts longer than conventional oil, allowing for extended intervals between oil changes. How Often Should You Change the Oil in a Mazda CX-70? While synthetic oil lasts longer than conventional oil, it’s still important to follow Mazda’s recommended maintenance schedule. For the Mazda CX-70, it’s generally advised to change your oil every 7,500 to 10,000 miles or every 6 to 12 months, whichever comes first. However, if you drive in severe conditions like stop-and-go traffic, extreme heat, or frequent short trips, you may need to change your oil more frequently. To ensure your vehicle’s engine remains in top condition, schedule regular maintenance with Wallace Mazda’s expert service team in Stuart, FL. Our technicians will check your oil levels, inspect for any issues, and ensure your CX-70 is running at peak performance. Signs You Need an Oil Change Not sure if it’s time for an oil change? Here are a few telltale signs that it’s time to schedule service: Oil Change Light or Check Engine Light Illuminates Engine Noise or Knocking Sounds Excessive Exhaust Smoke Dirty or Dark Oil When Checked Strong Oil Smell Inside the Cabin If you experience any of these warning signs, visit Wallace Mazda’s service center in Stuart, FL, for a prompt oil change. Can I Use a Different Oil Type for My Mazda CX-70? While it’s possible to use a different oil type, it’s not recommended. Mazda’s engineers have optimized the engine’s performance based on the specific characteristics of SAE 0W-20 full synthetic oil. Using a different oil type may reduce performance, fuel economy, and engine protection. Stick with what’s recommended to ensure your vehicle stays in optimal condition.
